Job summary

CrowdStrike in London is seeking a Senior UI Platform Engineer to own the module federation architecture and lead the shared Vite build and CI tooling. You will partner with Product Groups to deliver a unified UI platform across multiple teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable frontend infrastructure, automating dependency management, security scans, and AI-assisted upgrades while mentoring engineers and shaping engineering standards. Hybrid, London-based.

Qualifications

• Built shared frameworks or tooling that engineers rely on daily.
• Strong experience with Vite and modern front-end build tooling, diagnosing module graph issues.
• Experience shipping module federation or equivalent microfrontend architecture at scale, with versioning, contract, and runtime considerations.
• Fluency in TypeScript and monorepo tooling (Nx or Turborepo), and modern package management (pnpm workspaces).
• Experience designing GitLab CI pipelines that are fast, reliable, with clear failure signals.
• Experience automating dependency management with Renovate and integrating security tooling (SAST/SCA/Snyk).
• Experience setting engineering standards that autonomous teams adopt and influencing senior engineers.
• Experience using AI to improve how engineering work gets done.
• Bonus: Playwright, CI test tooling, and platform migration experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the module federation architecture enabling multiple product groups to ship independent microfrontends in a single UI shell.
• Lead the shared Vite build and dev-server tooling used locally and in CI.
• Design and run CI pipelines that build, verify, and publish every UI package across GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Deliver the CLI that scaffolds repos, wires in module federation, runs tests, and cuts releases.
• Automate dependency management, security scanning, and AI-assisted upgrades in the paved road.
• Shift left with linting, type checks, build validation, and contract checks in editor/pre-push hooks.
• Collaborate with UI Quality, UI Release, and Observability to present a cohesive platform.
• Mentor engineers on build tooling, module federation, and monorepo patterns; provide thoughtful code reviews.
• Build ephemeral environments and preview deployments per merge request for fast feedback.

Requirements

• We need someone who has built shared frameworks, tooling, or platforms that other engineers rely on day to day.
• We need strong experience with Vite and modern front-end build tooling, including diagnosing issues deep in the module graph.
• We need experience shipping module federation or equivalent microfrontend architecture in production at scale, with understanding of versioning, contract, and runtime pitfalls.
• We need fluency in TypeScript, monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo, and modern package management such as pnpm workspaces.
• We need experience designing GitLab CI pipelines that are fast, reliable, and provide a clear signal when something breaks.
• We need experience automating dependency management with Renovate or similar tools and integrating security tooling such as SAST, SCA, or Snyk into developer workflows.
• We need experience setting engineering standards that autonomous teams adopt, and influencing senior engineers and leaders when needed.
• We need experience using AI in earnest to change how engineering work gets done.
• Bonus experience includes Playwright and modern browser test tooling in CI, running Jenkins alongside modern CI during a platform migration, ephe meral preview environments per MR, developer experience metrics such as DORA or SPACE, and contract testing between federated remotes in a large distributed front end.

• We work with UI Quality, UI Release, and Observability so the platform feels like one thing through a single CLI.
• We pair with Product Group leads to migrate legacy build and tooling patterns onto the paved road and drive adoption across the organisation.
• We mentor engineers on build tooling, module federation, and monorepo patterns, and provide thoughtful code review.
• We build ephe meral environments and preview deployments per merge request so engineers get fast feedback before merging.
