Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Manchester to design, develop and maintain the critical infrastructure powering our services. You will contribute hands-on coding across backend and frontend components and help shape the product road map in an Agile environment.

The role requires leadership to guide engineers through technical and delivery challenges, with hybrid work options. UK citizenship and the ability to obtain the highest level of UK government clearance are

Qualifications

• Experience as a Software Engineer in backend and frontend domains with listed stacks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, containerisation, deployment and cloud platforms.
• Understanding of databases such as SQL, Elasticsearch or MongoDB.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving in Agile teams.
• Security clearance: ability to gain and maintain the highest UK Government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on development and contribute to the code base including peer review.
• Design software features to realise the product road map and justify design choices.
• Break down large work into well-defined tasks in an Agile manner.
• Support setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
• Demonstrate development work to internal and external customers.
