Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the United Kingdom to design, develop and deploy secure, scalable software within complex engineering environments. You will drive CI/CD, DevSecOps and data integration across programmes.

Role located in a hybrid setup with sites in Bristol, Crawley and Glasgow; SC clearance is desirable. You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust software solutions and contribute to cutting-edge autonomous systems projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.
• Commercial software development and deployment experience.
• Experience working within complex, regulated or safety-critical engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy secure, scalable software solutions within complex engineering environments.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating software development, testing and deployment processes.
• Build reusable software capabilities supporting data integration, curation and deployment across multiple programmes.
• Collaborate with software, systems, data and infrastructure engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop high-quality production code, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues and support solutions throughout their lifecycle.
• Support DevSecOps activities including threat modelling, vulnerability management and security compliance.
• Integrate third-party data sources, APIs and services into operational software solutions.
• Contribute to technical demonstrations, proofs of concept and the evaluation of emerging technologies.
