Job summary

Roku Cambridge is growing its Ads Auctions and Marketplace Optimization team. You will design and implement systems that decide which ads to serve, where, and when, while balancing revenue and user experience across a high-scale real-time platform.

You will own end-to-end development, work with senior engineers, and ship production code in a fast-paced environment that values clear trade-offs and measurable impact. Hybrid work in the UK is supported.

Qualifications

• Six+ years building production software.
• Production experience with Java or JVM languages desired.
• Strong grounding in maths, algorithms, probability and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Design and build components of Roku's real-time ad auction and marketplace systems.
• Own multi-objective optimisation at the core of the auction and balance stakeholder needs.
• Own development work end-to-end from framing to rollout.
• Build and operate JVM services with latency and reliability as requirements.
• Use probability, statistics and experimentation to test changes before/after launch.
• Work with AI tooling as part of design, build, test and review.
• Explain technical trade-offs clearly to engineering and cross-functional partners.
