Job summary

Roku is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Advertising Platform to help build a scalable, real-time ad system. You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance services with a focus on latency and reliability.

You will own features, collaborate with product teams and other engineering groups, and promote best practices. A BS/MS in CS or equivalent and 10+ years in distributed systems are expected; Java or C++ and cloud experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Java or C++.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization, OOP, multi-threading, and real-time programming.
• Experience with distributed caching, SQL/NoSQL, and other databases is a plus.
• Experience with Big Data and cloud services such as AWS or GCP is a plus.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
