Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the delivery of features and platform improvements across a PHP/Laravel backend and React/TypeScript frontend. You will drive high-quality code, oversee releases, and raise engineering standards while collaborating with product, data, and QA teams.

You will work across backend and frontend, focusing on performance, reliability, and reducing technical debt as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• Experience building software products using PHP and Laravel.
• Front-end development with React and TypeScript.
• Ability to own software delivery and release production-ready applications.
• Experience across backend and frontend development.
• Strong PostgreSQL relational design knowledge.
• Exposure to AWS-based environments and cloud-native development.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally GitHub Actions.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with product and data stakeholders.
• Commitment to code quality, testing, maintainability, and CI/CD improvements.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools and practices.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of delivering high-quality product features and platform improvements across the full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience building software products using PHP and Laravel
• Hands-on experience developing modern frontend applications with React and TypeScript
• Proven ability to own software delivery and release production-ready applications
• Experience working across both backend and frontend development
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Exposure to AWS-based environments and cloud-native development practices
• Experience with CI/CD tooling, ideally GitHub Actions
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with product and data stakeholders
• Commitment to code quality, testing, maintainability, and continuous improvement
• Interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools responsibly and effectively
