Job summary

Paxton Access Ltd in Brighton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You will design, build and maintain software that supports our flagship access control products, and you will mentor teammates.

This hands-on role emphasizes scalable, high‑performance software and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. You will contribute to architecture decisions and help drive progress with a proactive mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a lead or senior software engineering role.
• Experience delivering software solutions in C# and .NET.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and Web APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions for new features and bug fixes according to project requirements.
• Provide leadership for project requirements, planning and reporting.
• Collaborate with the Principal Engineer, Apps and Cloud teams.
• Ensure the technical integrity of user interfaces, back end API services, mobile apps, and cloud services, using test driven design methodologies and best practice.
• Identify problems or risks early on in the development cycle to help the team avoid or mitigate these risks to ensure efficient delivery of work to be completed.
• Help provide input and suggestions to other team member's designs or take part in the decision-making process to ensure progress on tasks and deliverables.
• Review your own and others' code to ensure good coding practices as we deliver our work.
• Review and provide feedback on requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality.
• Actively contribute towards decision on overall architecture and technologies used in our software products.
