Job Description:

Velocity Tech has partnered with an exciting London-based tech company who are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team.

This role will require 2-3 days a week onsite in their London office.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain core infrastructure: databases, APIs, backend services, and monitoring tools
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and deployment pipelines with DevOps
• Design scalable backend systems for an AI-driven platform
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues
• Continuously improve performance, reliability, and scalability
• Develop internal tools to support engineering workflows
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Collaborate with product teams on infrastructure needs
• Deliver full end-to-end features

Requirements:

• 5+ years in backend or infrastructure development
• Strong with SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling
• Skilled in Kubernetes and containerization
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Proficient in Python, Node.js, or Golang
• Built and maintained RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
• Familiar with monitoring and observability tools
• Experience with CI/CD and automated deployments
• Performance optimization and system reliability expertise
• Knowledge of message queues and event-driven systems
• Bonus: Experience with Generative AI or ML infrastructure
