Job summary

Searchability in Gloucestershire is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to work on high‑assurance software for national security projects. This is a permanent, on‑site role requiring SC clearance eligibility and UK eDV readiness.

You will design, develop, test and document robust software, applying security principles across the lifecycle, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Linux/Windows environments, CI/CD and TDD. Strong C++, Java or C# experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering high‑assurance software solutions.
• Apply security principles throughout system design, development and testing.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Conduct constructive code reviews and share knowledge with junior engineers.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and mitigations during development.
• Utilise TDD, unit testing, mocking and CI in daily practice.
• Work across Windows and Linux operating environments.
• Understand software development methodologies and security risks.

Responsibilities
