Sports Interactive is the studio behind Football Manager. Founded in 1994, it became a subsidiary of SEGA Europe in 2006. Based in Stratford, East London, the team continues to grow, bringing titles to a broad audience across various platforms.

Position Overview

We aim to improve Football Manager's visual quality and performance. We seek an experienced graphics software engineer to join our team, collaborating with peers and the Art Department to implement features across platforms, primarily using Unity.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain rendering features: character rendering, lighting, post-processing, materials.
• Develop and optimize shaders and rendering code in Unity for multiple platforms.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance and memory usage.
• Build tools to enhance artist workflows.
• Implement automated tests and asset validation tools.
• Debug rendering issues, ensuring visual fidelity within performance constraints.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to create scalable rendering solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Extensive experience with C#.
• Experience shipping at least one Unity game on multiple platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Unity URP, Render Graph, SRP.
• Proficiency in HLSL and Shader Graph, writing optimized shaders.
• Understanding of GPU architectures and rendering techniques.
• Experience profiling/debugging with RenderDoc, Unity Profiler, PIX, NSight.
• Deep knowledge of 3D math, linear algebra, transformations.
• Understanding real-time lighting, shadows, PBR.
• Strong software engineering skills and performance-focused development.
• Experience with asset pipelines from DCC tools to Unity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with GI solutions and multiple rendering pipelines.
• Experience developing for iOS, Android, Switch.
• Familiarity with DirectX 11/12, Metal, Vulkan APIs.
