Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Team: Graphics

Location: SI HQ, Here East, London / Remote

Reporting to: Lead Software Engineer (Graphics)

Sports Interactive is the studio behind Football Manager, founded in 1994 and part of SEGA Europe since 2006. Based at Here East in London, we are expanding as we bring our titles to a global audience across platforms.

We are seeking a passionate graphics software engineer to improve visual quality and performance of Football Manager. The role involves collaboration with the Graphics Team and Art Department, working with Unity engine.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain rendering features (character rendering, lighting, post-processing, materials).
• Develop and optimize shaders in Unity for multiple platforms.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance and memory usage.
• Build tools to enhance artist workflows.
• Implement automated tests and validation tools.
• Debug rendering issues to ensure visual fidelity within performance constraints.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers on scalable rendering solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Extensive experience with C# and Unity, shipped at least one game on multiple platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Unity URP, Shader Graph, HLSL, and shader optimization.
• Understanding GPU architectures, rendering techniques, and performance optimization.
• Experience with profiling/debugging tools (RenderDoc, Unity Profiler, PIX, NSight).
• Solid 3D math skills, understanding of real-time lighting, shadows, PBR.
• Strong software engineering skills, clean code, performance focus.
• Experience with asset pipelines and cross-platform development (iOS, Android, Switch).
• Knowledge of low-level graphics APIs (DirectX 11/12, Metal, Vulkan).
