Reporting to: Lead Software Engineer (Graphics)

Sports Interactive is the studio behind Football Manager, founded in 1994 and now a subsidiary of SEGA Europe. Based in Stratford, East London, we are expanding and seeking passionate individuals to join our team.

Position Overview

We aim to continually improve Football Manager's visual quality and performance. We are seeking an experienced graphics software engineer to join our team, collaborating with peers and the Art Department to implement features across platforms, using Unity as our engine.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain rendering features (character rendering, lighting, post-processing, materials)
• Develop and optimize shaders and rendering code in Unity for multiple platforms
• Profile and optimize rendering performance and memory usage
• Build tools to improve artist workflows
• Implement automated tests and asset validation tools
• Debug rendering issues to ensure visual fidelity within performance constraints
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to create scalable rendering solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Extensive experience with C#
• Shipped at least one game using Unity on multiple platforms
• Strong knowledge of Unity URP, Render Graph, SRP
• Proficiency in HLSL and Shader Graph
• Understanding of GPU architectures and rendering techniques
• Experience profiling and debugging rendering issues with tools like RenderDoc, Unity Profiler, PIX, NSight
• Deep understanding of 3D math, lighting, shadows, PBR
• Strong software engineering skills
• Experience with asset pipelines
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with GI solutions, HDRP, cross-pipeline work, testing in Unity, and developing for iOS, Android, Switch
• Knowledge of low-level graphics APIs (DirectX, Metal, Vulkan)
