Sports Interactive is the gaming studio behind Football Manager. Founded in 1994, it became a subsidiary of SEGA Europe in 2006. Based in Stratford, East London, the team continues to grow, bringing titles to a broad audience across platforms.

Position Overview

We aim to enhance the visual quality and performance of Football Manager. We seek an experienced graphics software engineer to join our team, collaborating with peers and the Art Department to implement features across platforms using Unity.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain rendering features, including character rendering, lighting, post-processing, and materials.
• Develop and optimize shaders and rendering code in Unity for multiple platforms.
• Profile and optimize rendering performance and memory usage.
• Build and maintain tools to improve artist workflows.
• Implement automated tests and asset validation tools.
• Debug rendering issues and ensure visual fidelity within performance constraints.
• Collaborate with artists and engineers to create scalable, high-quality rendering solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Extensive experience with C#.
• Experience shipping Unity games on multiple platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Unity URP, Render Graph, and SRP.
• Proficiency in HLSL and Shader Graph.
• Understanding GPU architectures and graphics optimization.
• Experience profiling and debugging rendering issues.
• Deep knowledge of 3D math, lighting, shadows, and PBR.
• Strong software engineering skills.
• Experience with asset pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with GI solutions and multiple rendering pipelines.
• Familiarity with low-level graphics APIs like DirectX, Metal, Vulkan.
