Harvey Nash is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Go to join our engineering team in the Manchester area. The role focuses on building high-performance Go services while guiding architectural decisions and engineering standards.

This is a hybrid position with two days per week onsite in Manchester or Knutsford, and a background in Python, Java or similar is welcome for Go work. You will collaborate with product, architecture and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure and resilient

Senior Software Engineer - Go (would consider Python)

Manchester or Knutsford | Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

We're working with a major financial services organisation looking to hire a Golang Software Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering large-scale platforms and business-critical software.

This role combines hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable systems while helping shape engineering standards, architecture decisions, and best practices across the wider team.

While the primary language is Go (Golang), we're also open to strong backend engineers from Python, Java or similar backgrounds who are excited to work extensively with Go.

The Role

You’ll be building and enhancing high-performance software that supports critical business and technology platforms. Working closely with engineers, architects and product teams, you’ll help design, develop and evolve scalable solutions used across the organisation.

You’ll contribute to technical decision-making, mentor other engineers, and play a key role in driving engineering excellence across the team.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, automation and DevOps tooling
