Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Birmingham seeks an Agentic Systems Engineer to build and productionize intelligent research tools and automated pipelines. You will work with senior engineers to develop end-to-end full-stack apps, implement stateful multi-agent workflows, and integrate AI services into GIR platforms.

Key focus areas include building scalable Java/Python services, deploying on AWS, and ensuring robust SDLC practices in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering with Java or Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field.
• Working knowledge of core AWS services: Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, EventBridge, CloudWatch, API Gateway.
• Solid understanding of SDLC tooling, automated testing, Git, Docker, and CI/CD automation.

Responsibilities

• Feature engineering: build end-to-end full-stack features linking frontends to backend APIs.
• Gen AI & agent implementation: develop RAG pipelines and multi-agent workflows.
• Evaluation & benchmarking: create offline/online eval suites for relevance and hallucination reduction.
• Cloud & data integration: deploy AI components on AWS, configure Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3 and API Gateway.
• Observability & incident support: monitor performance with CloudWatch and tracing; triage incidents.
• SDLC discipline: participate in code reviews, write tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Agile collaboration: work with stakeholders in sprints translating requirements into deliverables.
