Job summary

Meta Careers is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to help scale Fleet Management’s automation layer for Meta's data center fleet. You will own the design and delivery of large-scale workflow orchestration systems, working across teams to improve reliability and efficiency at scale.

You will apply expertise in distributed systems and multiple programming languages (Python, C++, Java, Rust, Go) and lead cross-organisational initiatives, including AI-assisted optimization and capacity

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of large production systems.
• Deep distributed systems expertise—workflow/orchestration engines, control planes, scheduling, state machines, or resource management.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Rust or Go in production environments.
• Experience leading cross-team design and delivery with measurable impact.
• Strong on-call ownership, incident leadership, and observability practices.
