Job summary

Canada Life UK is seeking a Senior Associate Engineer to design and build features across the stack and to run them in production. The role blends product delivery with operational responsibilities, including deployment, monitoring and incident response.

You will modernise the IT estate, leverage cloud and automation, and work in a cross-functional team embracing a You build it, you run it philosophy.

Qualifications

• Capable, hands-on software developer with full-stack experience.
• Interest in operations, SRE, observability and production systems.
• Experience building and running CI/CD pipelines and automated tests.
• Knowledge of modern engineering principles and iterative work style.
• Willingness to contribute to releases, incident response and reliability.
• Awareness of security best practices and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy and support features across frontend and backend.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
• Operate live services, manage releases, alerts and incident responses.
• Pursue continuous improvement and reduce toil through automation.
