Job summary

Canada Life UK is seeking a Senior Associate Engineer to design and build features across the stack while running them in production. You will contribute to DevOps, observability, and CI/CD pipelines, championing a “you build it, you run it” mindset in a cloud-based Azure environment.

You will work across the full software lifecycle from conception to deployment, with a strong emphasis on production reliability, automation, and continuous learning in an agile setting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software developer across front and back end with a focus on operations, SRE and observability.
• Experience with modern component-oriented front end frameworks and UX appreciation.
• Solid knowledge of C# and the .NET stack, with Microsoft/Azure emphasis.
• Advocate of SOLID and CLEAN code, writing maintainable code.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployments, using GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy.
• Observability with metrics, logs and traces, and familiarity with SLIs/SLOs.
• Willingness to perform operational duties such as releases and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design and build product features across front and back end, engaging in the full development lifecycle.
• Live the You build it, you run it model: implement DevOps, own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and observability.
• Take ownership of personal learning paths in operations, SRE and observability.
