Job summary

Adecco Pontoon is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with Python and C#/.NET expertise to lead enterprise data platforms and analytics initiatives in London. You will own technical direction, design patterns, and modernization of legacy systems, while partnering with business stakeholders to translate objectives into scalable solutions.

The role requires hands-on leadership across delivery, architecture, data modelling, and DevOps, with a focus on secure, high-performance platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience building enterprise apps with Python and C#/.NET Core / .NET 8+
• Strong background in APIs, distributed systems and SOA
• Experience leading multi-project delivery and setting engineering standards
• Experience with data modelling, ETL/ELT, and data governance

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of enterprise software and data platforms using Python and C#/.NET
• Define solution architecture and engineering standards for scalable systems
• Act as technical authority for software engineering and data platforms
• Drive modernization and cloud-native migrations of legacy applications
• Review designs and code to ensure standards and best practices
• Champion software quality, security, performance, and reliability
• Lead data integration, ETL/ELT, and analytics enablement solutions
• Oversee data models across operational, analytical, and reporting workloads
• Ensure alignment with data strategy, architecture standards, and governance
• Drive database performance, scalability, and data processing capabilities
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, and Architecture teams
• Partner with stakeholders to translate objectives into technical solutions
• Provide technical guidance to senior management and sponsors
• Manage priorities across initiatives balancing delivery, risk and debt
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Mentor engineers and promote continuous improvement
• Support recruitment activities and interviews
• Ensure security, governance, regulatory, and risk requirements
• Support audit, resiliency, and monitoring initiatives
• Implement CI/CD, automated testing and DevOps practices across teams
