Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Software Engineer III in the UK to design, build, and maintain scalable data engineering pipelines. You will work closely with global engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable software and drive operational excellence across products.

The role requires hands-on core Java coding, debugging, and problem-solving, with collaboration across distributed teams. Strong data modeling and coding best practices are essential.

Qualifications

3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
Proficiency with data manipulation languages and data modeling principles.
Experience with Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.

Responsibilities

Interface with other technical personnel to finalize requirements.
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for moderate complexity components.
Collaborate with team members to translate product requirements into designs.
Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
Operate in Agile or Waterfall environments and engage stakeholders.
Resolve technical issues as necessary.
Keep abreast of new technology developments.
Complete bug fixes.
