Job summary

Fideres Partners LLP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in London to expand and maintain the data infrastructure and software libraries supporting our economists’ quantitative research.

You will gather requirements, contribute to sprint planning and work with a Kanban and sprint framework. The stack emphasizes Python, containerisation, IaC, CI/CD, and Azure cloud, across data sourcing, ETL, and front-end delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, economics or finance.
• Strong problem‑solving and quantitative skills; ability to disaggregate issues and propose solutions.
• Experience with data infrastructure, ETL, and tooling for quantitative research.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute tasks with accurate effort estimates.
• Collaborate with economists to build tools and systems for research.
• Develop and deploy API services.
• Design, develop and deploy web scraping infrastructure.
• Review code and provide feedback to economists and junior developers.
• Mentor quantitative economists and junior developers; collect user feedback.
• Contribute to engineering standards and practices.
• Contribute to production services and troubleshoot as needed.
• Lead technical direction and architectural decisions.
