Job summary

Elekta in Crawley is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain software for radiotherapy systems. You will work across UI and backend layers using C#, .NET, WPF and C++ in an Agile team to deliver safe, quality software.

You’ll contribute to automated testing, CI/CD and the migration towards containerised microservices, while supporting regulatory compliance and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Understand software engineering principles, OO design and SDLC.
• Experience with unit testing, automation and CI/CD practices.
• Work collaboratively within Agile development teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to delivering high‑quality software.
• Communicate well with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software applications used within radiotherapy treatment systems.
• Deliver full stack development using C#, .NET, WPF and C++, across user interfaces, backend services and system integrations.
• Improve software quality through automated testing, code reviews and continuous integration practices.
• Support the migration of applications to containerised and microservices-based environments.
• Contribute to Agile planning, sprint activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support safety-critical software development activities and help meet quality and regulatory requirements.
• Share knowledge, support colleagues and contribute to a positive engineering culture.
