Qualifications

• Degree in CS or related technical discipline.
• Commercial experience as Software Engineer in Agile.
• Strong C# and .NET development.
• Experience deploying and supporting apps in AWS.
• Knowledge of AWS services: EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Cloud-native architectures, scalability, security and resilience in AWS.
• IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation advantageous.
• OO concepts including SOLID principles.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and relational DBs.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Unit testing and maintainable code.
• Design patterns and optimization techniques.
• Testing approaches and QA practices.
• Code reviews, sprint ceremonies and collaboration.
• Ability to coach/mentor engineers.
• Problem-solving and collaborative mindset.
• Passion for technology and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Work within our Software Engineering team on a variety of projects.
• Take part in stand-ups, sprint reviews and demos.
• Fix bugs and contribute to design work.
• Support junior team members.
• Participate in product release cycles and reporting.
• Contribute to collaborative development practices and code reviews.

Salary: £45,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, with a strong understanding of core software engineering principles.
• Proven commercial experience working as a Software Engineer within an Agile environment.
• Strong development experience using C# and .NET technologies.
• Experience developing, deploying and supporting applications within AWS cloud environments.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures, scalability, security and resilience principles within AWS.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts, including polymorphism, inheritance and SOLID principles.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases.
• Understanding of modern software architecture, including Microservices.
• Experience with unit testing and a commitment to producing high-quality, maintainable code.
• Knowledge of design patterns and software optimisation techniques.
• A good understanding of different testing approaches and software quality practices.
• Experience participating in code reviews, sprint ceremonies and collaborative development practices.
• The ability to coach, mentor and support less experienced engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
• A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
