Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Senior Engineer Program Manager, the Product Architect is a technical leader and representative of the transmission product family, both internally and externally. Responsible for leading activities on the Bay Protection and Control Units family of product devices throughout their lifecycle, including project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and cross-functional execution. This role oversees all aspects of product design, engineering, and successful product release launches.

The Product Architect drives technical roadmaps across divisions, collaborating with software, hardware, product validation, and certification teams, in partnership with product management.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Programming and deploying low-level software design.
2. Understanding of real-time operating systems.
3. Leading and sustaining a world-class development team to deliver complex platforms and projects of varying size and duration.
4. Coaching and mentoring a diverse product development team through lean/agile transformation.
5. Spearheading the adoption of industry standards and promoting Agile practices and estimation techniques across teams.
6. Providing expertise on technical risk management and quality assurance for the product and its applications.
7. Developing, owning, and communicating technical product roadmaps, working with product management and cross-functional teams to plan strategically with a 5+ year outlook.
8. Managing technical dependencies within the product and across business areas, including industrialization and quality.
9. Collaborating with product owners and architects to set priorities and develop multi-generation plans aligning with product, technology, and business vision.
10. Working with third parties and partners to support development and support activities.
11. Providing expertise to proactively address potential defects and ensure subsystem compatibility.
12. Leading product/service or architectural innovations and identifying critical design areas early in development.
13. Applying Lean methodologies for process improvements in development, sustaining, and support activities.
14. Occasional international travel to visit customers, vendors, and GE Vernova sites.

Qualifications Requirements:

1. Master's or Engineer degree in Software, Power Electronics, or Electrotechnics.
2. Proven experience as an architect of embedded systems with demonstrated leadership.
3. Experience in programming and deploying low-level software and real-time operating systems.
4. Expertise in Agile methodologies within embedded development.

Desirables:

1. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovative thinking skills, with experience in coaching and mentoring.
2. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships, conducting negotiations, and presenting to diverse audiences.
3. Experience with electronics compliance standards such as EMC, CE, UL, IEC, IEEE.
4. Exposure to industrialization, hardware, firmware, and software architectures of PLCs, protection & control relays, and switches.
