Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced software engineer to design and develop software for system and subsystem requirements. You will contribute to distributed, mission-critical ATM systems and ensure traceability across requirements, implementation and testing.

The role focuses on C/C++ and ADA, with Linux environments, Git/ClearCase, JIRA and DOORS, plus exposure to AI-assisted tools such as Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot to boost productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (CS, telecoms, math, physics) or similar.
• 4–6 years of software development experience.
• High level of English (written and spoken).
• Spanish speaker.
• Strong experience in C/C++ and/or ADA; Python a plus; Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Git, ClearCase, JIRA, DOORS; end-to-end lifecycle.
• Interest in AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot; prompt engineering knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software based on system and subsystem requirements.
• Contribute to distributed, mission‑critical ATM systems.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, implementation, and testing.
• Perform development and integration activities, testing and validation.
• Manage and resolve software anomalies and defects.
• Apply AI‑assisted tools to improve development productivity, code quality and maintainability, and automation across the lifecycle.
