Job summary

IFS is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design of scalable APIs and AI-native features within our Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform. You will shape architecture, lead cross-functional teams, and own end-to-end delivery from backend services to frontend interfaces.

You’ll mentor engineers, promote best practices, and collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to build cloud-native, observable software that supports decarbonization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in full stack development across frontend and backend.
• Proficient with React and GoLang.
• Design scalable APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Strong DevOps and observability practices.
• Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive sustainability products.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs, services, and accessibility-first UIs.
• Deliver AI-native features across frontend and backend for carbon accounting, ESG data collection, and sustainability planning.
• Evolve platform into modular, event-driven, API-first components.
• Provide technical direction on scalability, maintainability, performance, and product impact.
• Own reliability and operational excellence including telemetry, SLOs, incident response.
• Champion DevOps including CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineers in a DevOps shared service model.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Champion code quality, documentation, testing, performance, security.
• Take full ownership of deliverables quality and production readiness.
• Partner with PM, Design, AI, Platform Eng and other teams on discovery and delivery.
• Bring product- and customer-led mindset to solve pain points with scalable solutions.
• Identify risks and bottlenecks and opportunities to improve architecture.
