Job summary

Ifs is seeking a senior software engineer in the United Kingdom to lead full‑stack development of scalable APIs and AI-enabled features. You will own architectural decisions, drive reliability and DevOps practices, and collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver high‑quality software that advances sustainability initiatives.

The role demands hands-on engineering leadership, strong frontend and backend skills, and a focus on scalable, secure, observable cloud-native systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in full stack software engineering across front-end and back-end.
• Solid front-end tech experience, particularly React or similar frameworks.
• Strong back-end engineering experience, GoLang or similar languages.
• Experience designing and building scalable APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD and monitoring.
• Experience delivering secure, observable production software.
• Ability to lead technical design discussions and influence architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of scalable APIs and services.
• Deliver AI-native features across front-end and back-end, including ESG data capabilities.
• Drive modular, event-driven architecture and API-first components.
• Provide technical direction with focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Own reliability and operational excellence, incl. telemetry, SLOs, incident response, and on-call rotations.
• Champion DevOps practices, CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and production operations.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• Ensure code quality, automated testing, and proper documentation.
