We are on the lookout for a passionate Senior Software Engineer who will play a critical role in designing, developing, and installing software solutions used by the electric industry worldwide. This is a Europe-based position offering flexibility with office, hybrid, or remote work options. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled software engineer to make a significant impact within our team and the wider electric utilities industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.
- Assessing operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, and solution development.
- Documenting and demonstrating solutions through documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, and clear coding practices.
- Preparing and installing solutions by designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
- Improving operations through systems analysis and recommending policy and procedural changes.
- Updating job knowledge by studying the latest development tools, techniques, and equipment, and participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
- Protecting operations by maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Providing information by analyzing and summarizing development and service issues.
- Supporting and mentoring software engineers via advice, coaching, and training.
Qualifications:
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in software development using C++, C#, Typescript, React.
- Experience with C++ test frameworks, data structures, and OOP principles.
- Experience working with databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with Scrum and agile methodologies.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, testable, efficient, and secure code.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
