nudge is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for London, blending back-end and front-end work in a hybrid setup at London Victoria. You’ll design and deliver scalable, secure software powering our global financial wellbeing platform, collaborating with product managers and QA engineers in weekly sprints.

We value engineers as product thinkers and tech leaders, contributing to the direction of the product and adopting best practices in .NET, Angular, SQL, Mongo, and cloud technologies like Azure.

Qualifications

• .NET Framework or .NET Core and C# experience.
• HTML, CSS and TypeScript experience.
• SQL databases and MongoDB experience.
• Unit and integration testing experience.
• Knowledge of maintainable code and best practices.
• Debugging in Visual Studio.
• Security knowledge incl. OWASP top 10 (desirable).
• CI/CD and Azure experience (desirable).
• Experience in Agile environments (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Backend development with .NET, microservices, Azure cloud.
• Frontend work with Angular, TypeScript, SCSS, WebAPIs.
• Testing frameworks and TDD.
• Strong SQL and MongoDB diagnostics and tuning.
• Collaborate with product managers and QA engineers to deliver features.
• Work in weekly sprints.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to direction of product for end users.

What will you be doing?

Things move fast at nudge, and we are always learning. This means we need to stay agile, meaning the responsibilities of a role are never set in stone.

Responsibilities

• Backend development using technologies including C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core, Microservices, Cloud Technologies (Azure), SQL Server, RabbitMQ and MassTransit

• Working on front end using technologies such as Angular, Typescript, SCSS and WebAPIs

• Testing Frameworks such as NUnit and the ability to carry out test-driven development

• Strength in SQL and Mongo skills, specifically in areas such as tuning, optimisation, sharding and general diagnostics

• Working alongside other team members such as product managers and quality engineers, to design and deliver new functionality or features using the most appropriate tools and techniques

• Working in weekly sprints

• Participation in full software development lifecycle

• Playing an active role in the technology team to help with the direction of the product for end users

Skills and experience

To help you do all this, you will need:

• Experience with .NET Framework or .NET Core and C#
• Experience with HTML, CSS and Typescript
• Experience with SQL Databases and Mongo
• Unit and Integration Testing experience
• Understanding of what makes maintainable code and the ability to implement best practices
• Debugging within Visual Studio (or an IDE of your preference)
• Experience in Data Security within the application and familiarity with OWASP top 10 threats (desirable)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud technologies such as Azure (desirable)
• Experience working in an Agile environment (desirable)
