Job summary

Spencer Scott Ltd. in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design scalable, maintainable, high‑performance C# software, with Azure and AI‑assisted tooling. You’ll contribute to a data‑driven greenfield project in a hybrid, on‑site/remote setup.

You’ll work in a team with an engineering mindset, shaping architecture and embracing agentic coding workflows and modern AI development practices to boost productivity and software quality.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable, maintainable and high‑performance software.
• Knowledge of C# and Azure in a data‑driven environment.
• Experience with AI‑assisted software development tools and AI workflows.
• Web APIs, Vue.js, and TypeScript familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, refactor, implement and test C# code with emphasis on maintainability and performance.
• Contribute to software architecture and leverage AI tools to enhance development workflow.
• Collaborate in a team with an engineering mindset and participate in technical decision making.

Job description

Senior Software Engineer with knowledge around C#, Azure and modern AI-assisted software development, is wanted by a London based Scale-Up at the forefront of the energy revolution, driving innovation to power a sustainable Net Zero future.

You will be joining a highly talented team who come from an engineering mindset. The team is working on a new greenfield solution which is very data driven, the analytical / mathematical product covers Energy Power Trading, Storage, and Power Modelling.

The business is embracing modern AI-assisted engineering practices, using agentic coding workflows and AI development tools throughout the software development lifecycle to improve software design, productivity and engineering quality. You'll be joining a team that actively encourages developers to stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and software engineering techniques.

Ideally, you'll have experience of designing, refactoring, implementing and testing C# code, with a focus on maintainability, testability and performance. You'll also be comfortable working on scalable, high-performance software solutions, contributing to software architecture and using AI tools to enhance your day-to-day development workflow. This company has a collaborative environment where they like their Developers to have a real influence on projects and technical decision making.

The team works on a hybrid model, normally meeting up in the Central London hub 2 days a week. Your colleagues will also be on-site, so there is some meaning, collaboration and value. It will be a 2 stage interview process, which has been designed to be as quick and pain free as possible.
