Job summary

Searchability is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our global streaming technology teams in London. You will design, develop and deploy scalable backend services and APIs using Java/Spring, AWS and modern cloud patterns.

You’ll work across agile squads, collaborating with cross-functional teams in London, Lisbon and Prague to deliver reliable, high-performing digital experiences on various platforms. 2 days per week on-site in Osterley, West London.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and/or event-driven systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised apps.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana).
• Experience in Agile delivery environments and automated testing.

SENIOR ENGINEER (JAVA / SPRING / AWS)

NEW CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE FOR A SENIOR ENGINEER

• Initial contract until 18/12/2026
• £585 per day via Umbrella
• 2 days per week onsite in Osterley, West London
• BPSS Clearance required

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global technology organisation responsible for delivering world-class streaming experiences across multiple platforms. Their Global Commerce team supports identity and commerce capabilities across major streaming services, enabling seamless customer journeys including sign-up, authentication, acquisition and account management.

They are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team working across modern cloud technologies, scalable platforms and customer-facing digital services.

WHAT WILL THE SENIOR ENGINEER BE DOING?

As a Senior Engineer, you'll design, develop and deploy high-quality software solutions supporting critical identity and commerce platforms. You'll work across backend services, APIs and event-driven systems, contributing to scalable applications used across global streaming products.

Working within an Agile engineering environment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across London, Lisbon and Prague to deliver reliable, secure and high-performing digital experiences.

You'll be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through to automated testing, deployment and continuous improvement.

THE SENIOR ENGINEER SHOULD HAVE…

• Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring
• Proven experience designing, developing and deploying web applications and backend services
• Strong experience building RESTful APIs and/or event-driven systems
• Experience working with asynchronous messaging technologies, particularly Kafka
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud technologies
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana
• Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks and non-functional testing considerations
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
