Job summary

Motorola Solutions, Avigilon Alta Video team, is hiring a software engineer for Edinburgh. The role focuses on delivering reliable cloud-based video management software with AI analytics, within a hybrid setup two days per week in the city centre office.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building backend services for large, cloud-based distributed systems; GCP experience is preferred.
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent qualification, or proven industry track record.
• Experience using or adopting AI tools in a software development context.
• Ability to work in person at our Edinburgh office two days per week.

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong skills in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Golang, Python, C, C++, Rust or Java.
• Significant industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building backend services for large, cloud-based distributed systems; GCP experience is preferred.
• A passion for owning, building and delivering great software experiences for end users.
• A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent qualification, or a proven industry track record.
• Experience using or adopting AI tools in a software development context.
• Ability to work in person at our Edinburgh office two days per week.
• Bonus: understanding of service-oriented architectures and building cloud-based products.
• Bonus: experience with machine learning, computer vision or AI technologies.
• Bonus: interest in developing a T-shaped skill set, combining deep backend expertise with a broader technical outlook.
