About this role

Capital One is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join one of our backend Java teams, based in our Nottingham head office.

What you’ll do

1. You’ll work as part of a self-organised Services engineering team to design and develop software features that are delightful and vital to the lives of credit card consumers across all walks of life.
2. Your scope of work is within your team owned components and supporting, appropriately sized features.
3. You’ll work to achieve the goals and vision shared by Product Management and your Outcome team Leadership.
4. Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain.

What we’re looking for

1. You’ll have a proven ability to deliver high quality applications.
2. Working collaboratively and commitment to be part of a successful team.
3. Quality is important and therefore you’re happy to use approaches such as Pair Programming, TDD and BDD.

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position and is based in our Nottingham office.

We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.

We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
