Job summary

MCS Group is partnering with a well-established tech company investing in its internal engineering capability to grow a software team and scale a large cloud platform used daily by thousands of users.

As a Senior Software Developer you will influence technical direction, work with TypeScript/Node.js and React on AWS, participate in architectural decisions, and help establish best practices while delivering new functionality and improved performance. Hybrid working offered.

Qualifications

• Experience building applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Frontend development with React or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing cloud-hosted applications (AWS preferred).
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• SQL databases and data modelling experience.
• CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
• Strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code.

Following significant investment in digital transformation, they are growing their software team and looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to help drive the next phase of development across a large-scale cloud platform used daily by thousands of users.

The Role

This isn't a maintenance role.

You'll join a collaborative engineering team responsible for evolving a modern cloud-native platform, delivering new functionality, improving performance and scalability, and helping establish engineering best practice as the organisation continues to grow its internal capability.

You'll have exposure across the full development lifecycle, working closely with product stakeholders to solve real business problems while contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

You'll ideally have experience with most of the following:

• Commercial experience building applications using TypeScript and Node.js
• Modern frontend development with React or similar frameworks
• Experience developing cloud-hosted applications (AWS preferred)
• REST APIs and microservice architecture
• SQL databases and data modelling
• CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices
• A passion for writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
