Job summary

Confirm is hiring a Senior Software Developer to lead the delivery of AI-enabled software across our product portfolio. You will work with Product Managers, Engineers, QA and stakeholders to craft features that scale for millions of users worldwide, delivering robust, high‑quality solutions.

You will mentor junior developers, maintain cutting-edge tech, and ensure delivery excellence while aligning with Confirm’s values and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience across the AI-enabled software delivery lifecycle with tools like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor.
• Maintain AI-first product features and build new ones with model selection, moderation and evaluation.
• Strong frontend skills: HTML, JavaScript, CSS; modern UI frameworks (React/Vue/Angular).
• Solid backend: Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Laravel; RESTful services.
• Solid system design, performance, security, debugging; cross‑platform dev across devices.
• Proficient with databases (MongoDB/MySQL/PostgreSQL) and migrations.
• Testing/static checks (Jest, ESLint, TypeScript); version control and GitHub Actions.

About the role

As a Senior Software Developer at Confirm, you will be accountable for technical excellence and the successful delivery of software within our product portfolio, shaping experiences that are intuitive, inclusive, elegant, and deeply aligned with the needs of millions of users across the globe, while also ensuring they are developed using industry best practices.

You will work as a key member of a cross-functional product team — partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and business stakeholders to create features our users will love. The role requires collaborative working across the technical team; writing and maintaining code to a high standard, developing new features for key platforms while ensuring they remain robust and reliable.

You will be an expert contributor ensuring that our offerings stay at the cutting edge of technology by understanding business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. You will influence product strategy helping re-define how Confirm builds products — not just what we build.

You will be the technical expert within your team mentoring and coaching more junior members and encouraging continuous development and improvement in team knowledge, skills and practice.

What you will be doing

Responsibilities will include:

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into desirable, feasible, and viable solutions.

• Technical Delivery: Lead the planning, scoping, and technical design of scalable solutions while driving successful, timely delivery across the product portfolio.

• Software Quality & CI/CD: Ensure software reliability through robust testing practices (including unit testing, TDD) and by building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD processes.

• Code Review & Standards: Maintain high engineering standards by reviewing code submissions, providing constructive feedback, and continuously improving team coding practices.

• Team Development: Mentor and guide junior developers by delegating tasks (coding, testing, debugging), sharing best practices, and participating in performance management.

• Communication & Culture: Communicate complex technical concepts clearly across all levels of the business and actively embody company values (Do the right thing, We've got your back, Raise the bar).

Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Experience using AI across the whole software delivery lifecycle, from requirements and design through to implementation, testing, maintenance and enablement, with tools such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and a value-focused, agile approach
• Experience maintaining existing AI-first product features and building new ones, choosing the best model for each use case and handling moderation, security, consistency, ongoing model evaluation, foundation model upgrades and fallback options.
• Strong frontend skills in HTML, JavaScript and CSS, plus a modern UI framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
• Solid backend skills in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and PHP, using web frameworks such as Laravel, with proven experience building RESTful services and applying distributed design and design patterns.
• Sound engineering fundamentals: system design, performance optimisation, security, debugging production issues, and cross-platform development across mobile, desktop and browser limitations.
• Proficiency with MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar, including refactoring normalised databases and creating indexes through migrations.
• Experience with testing and static checks (Jest, ESLint, TypeScript), version control with Git, and CI/CD configuration using GitHub Actions.

Although not essential, it would be advantageous to have the following :

• Commercial experience developing in frontend and backend environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coach team members, excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate well outside of the technical team, comfortable dealing with everyone from front-line support to the senior executive team
• 5+ years professional experience in Software Development
• Third level qualification in Computer Science or similar field
