Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Humand Talent Ltd. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a fixed-term contract to join an R&D-focused tech team.
You will own major engineering challenges from idea to production, mentor engineers and progress toward technical leadership and line management as the team expands. The role involves building with a modern stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL) and deploying to cloud platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and AWS.
Our client is building technology designed to modernise an established sector through AI, data and modern software engineering. They’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to become a key contributor within their R&D-focused technology team on a fixed-term contract.
This is an opportunity to work across the complete engineering lifecycle: experimenting and prototyping, building production-quality applications, solving integration challenges and getting technology successfully deployed. You’ll also have the scope to lead projects end-to-end, mentor engineers and step into technical leadership and line management as the team develops.
You won’t be confined to one small part of the stack. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to:
This could be a particularly exciting next move if you’re an experienced Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack Engineer or Backend Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and wants exposure to AI and data-driven technology.
Our client’s wishlist includes strong commercial software engineering experience and confidence with at least a couple of technologies such as Python, TypeScript, relational databases, APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow or AWS.
You’ll get to build on solid software engineering and DevOps foundations, including CI/CD, version control, containerisation and cloud deployment, while producing clean, maintainable and well-tested software.
A STEM degree or equivalent practical experience would fit well, but practical capability matters too. Experience designing distributed cloud systems, deploying machine learning, AI or data-driven applications, or acting as a Technical Lead or Line Manager would be particularly useful rather than an expectation that every candidate ticks every box.
If your background is similar rather than identical, Transferable engineering experience and the ability to learn can be just as valuable as having worked with every technology listed.
Alongside interesting technical challenges, our client offers a benefits package focused on flexibility, wellbeing and financial support.
Benefits detailed for the role include up to 28 days’ annual leave, with the option to buy or sell up to five days, alongside private medical insurance options and life assurance. There is also health and wellbeing support including a 24/7 virtual GP service, assistance with certain health expenses, an employee assistance programme and enhanced family-friendly policies. Some benefits are subject to company performance and/or completion of probation.
Additional benefits include support towards driving lessons, an interest-free season ticket loan, a cycle scheme, financial flexibility services and pension advisory support, subject to the applicable terms.
If you’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer role combining full-stack development, cloud engineering, DevOps, AI-adjacent projects and technical leadership, this could be an excellent opportunity to broaden both your technical and leadership experience.
