Job Summary

HM Land Registry (HMLR) is undergoing a major transformation. We aim to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity, and open data. We are looking for three Senior Software Developers to join our Transformation and Technology Directorate.

Job Description

A Senior Software Developer is responsible for delivering and integrating software to form complete services, including:

1. Planning and leading development on related stories.
2. Understanding the entire system and mentoring others.
3. Collaborating with other disciplines to understand requirements.
4. Coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
5. Maintaining and supporting production services.
6. Improving system robustness, resilience, and stability.

Responsibilities also include participating in the developer community, collaborating cross-functionally, improving software quality, following industry best practices, aligning designs with strategic goals, and personal development.

Note: At least 60% of work time is expected to be in the office, with occasional travel to other locations including overnight stays.

Person Specification

Technical Skills required:

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Delphi).
• Knowledge of automated testing techniques (TDD, BDD).
• Understanding of CI/CD practices.

Proven experience in:

• Engineering secure solutions.
• Applying modern standards and practices.
• Agile software development.
