Senior Social Worker - Supprot Young Person £41
Dudley Children's Services
Could you be the one consistent adult who changes a young person's future?
Dudley Children's Services are seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Social Worker to undertake a unique Social Work role supporting a young person with complex and significant needs.
This is not a typical social work post. This role is dedicated to one young person whose experiences of trauma, loss and instability have a significant impact on her daily experience. The young person is currently living in an unregistered provision, requiring daily welfare visits, intensive relationship-based practice, and robust multi-agency oversight while a suitable regulated placement is identified.
We are looking for someone who sees beyond behaviours, remains curious, is tenacious, and understands that meaningful change is built through consistency, resilience, and trust.
You will work intensively alongside one young person, providing daily support, oversight, and coordination to ensure their safety, wellbeing, and progress while longer-term plans are secured.
This young person is bright, engaging, passionate about football and enjoys talking and playing football, discussing current players, and following results.
Like many young people who have experienced significant trauma, the young person can at times display behaviours that challenge professionals and services. Building trust takes time and consistency. They need somebody who can remain calm, reflective, and relational, even during difficult moments.
We are seeking someone who recognises that behaviour is communication and who can support a young person to feel safe, understood, and valued.
You will be a qualified and registered Social Worker with substantial post-qualifying experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and adversity.
You will demonstrate:
Most importantly, you will bring patience, compassion, and perseverance. You will be able to maintain hope when progress feels slow and remain committed to achieving the very best outcomes for a young person who deserves stability, safety, and opportunity.
