Job summary

Service Care is seeking a Senior Social Worker for Assessment & Intervention on a two-week contract basis in Milton Keynes. You will deliver expert social work services for children in need, subject to child protection, or involved with criminal justice processes, ensuring safety and positive outcomes.

You will work with families and agencies, chair reviews and case conferences as required, and maintain high professional standards while managing workload within budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing and responding to high-priority cases with appropriate assessment and intervention
• Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with statutory and local policies
• Conducting needs and risk assessments, collaborating with children, families, and multi-agency teams
• Developing and progressing tailored care plans aimed at achieving positive outcomes
• Initiating and chairing reviews and case conferences, including court work as required
• Supporting families through advice, advocacy, and guidance
• Managing your own workload effectively and working within budgetary constraints
• Maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Deliver high-quality social work services that promote the safety and well-being of children
• Build strong working relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies
• Contribute to a positive team culture aligned with Restorative Practice
• Keep up-to-date with current research and best practice standards
• Participate fully in supervision, review, training, and professional development
