Job summary

Medical Update Online in Basingstoke is seeking a qualified registered Social Worker to join our Hospital Social Work Team. You will work with dedicated health and social care colleagues to deliver high‑quality social work services and support adults leaving hospital to achieve the best outcomes.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, manage a complex caseload with supervision for junior staff, triage safeguarding referrals, and build positive professional relationships across teams.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Newly Qualified Social Workers are not considered for this post.
• Strong understanding of applying a strengths-based approach.
• Understanding of social work issues, legal frameworks and statutory duties.
• Commitment to compassion, empathy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs and available support.
• Manage a complex caseload while supervising Case Workers and Senior Case Workers and providing practice advice on complex cases.
• Triaging safeguarding referrals and making informed decisions.
• Building positive and professional relationships.
