Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting a Senior Social Worker to join the Family Help Team at Norfolk County Council, based at Greyfriars House, Great Yarmouth. You will manage a varied caseload and deliver comprehensive assessments to safeguard children.

The role requires UK Social Work England registration, a recognised social work degree, and at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in child protection, assessments and court work.

Qualifications

• recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.
• Current registration with Social Work England.
• A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in UK Local Authority social work roles.
• Strong experience in child protection, assessments and court work.
• Ability to manage complex cases and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and multi-agency working skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding children and achieving positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload involving children and families requiring support through Family Help services.
• Undertaking comprehensive assessments to identify children's needs, risks and strengths.
• Working with children and families to develop effective plans that promote safety, stability and positive outcomes.
• Undertaking child protection work and contributing to court proceedings where required.
• Building strong relationships with children, parents and extended family networks to support sustainable change.
• Working collaboratively with family support workers, specialist practitioners, assistant managers and team managers within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contributing to early intervention and prevention strategies to address concerns before they escalated.
• Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met.
