Job summary

Senior Social Worker - Family Help Sandwell is a permanent role within Sandwell Children's Trust. You will hold a caseload of complex Family Help cases, provide mentorship to peers and ensure child-centred assessments and plans are delivered within statutory timescales.

The role involves partnership work with families and multi-agency professionals, attending strategy meetings and safeguarding conferences to reduce risk and drive lasting change.

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, ideally in Family Help, CIN or CP.
• Sound knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children and statutory processes.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of more complex work and act as a source of practice expertise for the team.
• Support, mentor and co-work with newly qualified and less experienced colleagues.
• Hold a caseload of children and families within the Family Help service, working across CIN and CP.
• Complete high-quality assessments, plans and reports within statutory timescales.
• Work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to reduce risk and create lasting change.
• Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences and core groups.
• Ensure the voice of the child is central to all assessments and planning.
