Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in Walsall. You will manage complex caseloads and contribute to safeguarding within a specialist setting.

The role is office-based at The Civic Centre, Walsall, 37 hours per week, with an umbrella rate of £30.57 per hour. A recognised Social Work qualification and SW England registration are required, plus a full UK driving licence.

• Supporting Children in Care through care planning, reviews and permanency planning.
• Managing Children in Need plans for children with complex needs and disabilities.
• Undertaking statutory assessments, care planning and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures.
• Working with families, education, health services and partner agencies to safeguard welfare.
• Contributing to multi-agency planning and decision-making for best outcomes.

About the Role

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in supporting children and young people with disabilities? Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Social Worker to join their CWD Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist team and make a meaningful difference.

Location: The Civic Centre, Walsall WS1 1TP

Rate: £30.57 per hour (Umbrella rate)

Contract: Temporary

Hours: 37 per week

Office Requirements: Office based a minimum of 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a complex caseload of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
• Completing Child Protection enquiries and investigations and progressing effective Child Protection Plans.
• Supporting Children in Care (CIC) through care planning, reviews and permanency planning.
• Managing Children in Need (CIN) plans for children with complex needs and disabilities.
• Undertaking statutory assessments, care planning and reviews in line with legislation and local authority procedures.
• Working closely with families, carers, education professionals, health services and partner agencies to safeguard and promote children's welfare.
• Contributing to multi-agency planning and decision-making to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

About You
