Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in Walsall. You will manage complex caseloads and contribute to safeguarding within a specialist setting.

The role is office-based at The Civic Centre, Walsall, 37 hours per week, with an umbrella rate of £30.57 per hour. A recognised Social Work qualification and SW England registration are required, plus a full UK driving licence.

Competenze

• Significant prior experience working with children and young people with disabilities.
• Strong assessment, safeguarding and risk management skills.
• Experience of multi-agency working and effective partnership engagement.
• Excellent communication, recording and report-writing skills.
• Proactive and child-centred approach to practice.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Mansioni

• Managing a complex caseload of children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
• Completing Child Protection enquiries and investigations and progressing Child Protection Plans.
• Supporting Children in Care through care planning, reviews and permanency planning.
• Managing Children in Need plans for children with complex needs and disabilities.
• Undertaking statutory assessments, care planning and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures.
• Working with families, education, health services and partner agencies to safeguard welfare.
• Contributing to multi-agency planning and decision-making for best outcomes.
