Job summary

Together for Children Sunderland is seeking a Social Worker or Senior Social Worker to join the Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce (APST). The role focuses on prevention, intervention and coordinating support for children in Alternative Provision, with a DSL duties role and cross-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• You will hold a recognised Social Work qualification, be registered with Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.
• Experience of statutory social work, safeguarding, assessment and multi-agency working with children and families.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to engage children and families who may be reluctant to access support.
• Experience relating to attendance, exclusion, Alternative Provision, youth justice, exploitation, SEND or trauma-informed practice is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist social care advice and support to schools, Alternative Provision settings, families and partner agencies.
• Use expertise to strengthen assessment, planning and intervention for vulnerable children and families.
• Act as APST Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and support safeguarding decisions across the service.
