Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker for the Assessment Team in Tyne and Wear. The role offers flexible locum ongoing work with full-time or part-time hours and a pay rate of £34.45 per hour.

You will provide expert social work leadership, conduct complex statutory assessments, mentor less experienced staff, and ensure safeguarding practices meet high standards to improve outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• Senior-level social worker with expertise in complex safeguarding and assessment work.
• Ability to mentor colleagues and provide professional leadership.
• Experience with risk assessment and signs of safety methodologies.

Responsabilités

• Conduct complex statutory assessments to safeguard children who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or significant harm.
• Analyse risk factors alongside family strengths to create well-informed, evidence-based decisions and safety plans.
• Ensure the views and experiences of children shape assessments and interventions.
• Offer case consultation and mentoring to social workers, especially those newly qualified.
• Consistently apply the Signs of Safety and strengths-based practice models.
• Collaborate effectively with families and partners such as police, health services, and educational institutions for safeguarding.
• Support case reviews and quality assurance for continuous service improvement.
• Maintain accurate case records in compliance with statutory guidance and council procedures.
