Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner in the Child Protection Team for Newcastle upon Tyne. This locum, full-time role focuses on safeguarding children, assessing needs, and producing reports for court proceedings, with hybrid working between Partnership House, Gosforth and home.

You will lead casework, mentor junior social workers, and collaborate with professionals to secure timely interventions while ensuring the voices of children and families are heard throughout

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop care plans that safeguard children and support families.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to manage cases and facilitate interventions.
• Prepare and present Section 7 and Section 37 reports, as well as Child Impact Reports.
• Provide expert guidance and support to junior social workers within the team.
• Engage with children, families, and carers to ensure their voices are included in decision‑making.
• Attend court proceedings and represent the council with confidence and professionalism.
