Join us at Achieving for Children – Now Hiring Social Workers and Senior Social Workers at Windsor & Maidenhead

Achieving for Children is a Community Interest Company that blends the values of the public sector with the freedom to do things differently. We’re proud to be making a real difference in the lives of children and families.

Windsor and Maidenhead’s Children’s Services have been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, with an ‘Outstanding’ rating for the experiences and progress of our care leavers. It’s a great time to join us as we continue to grow and improve the way we work.

We’ve recently launched our new LiquidLogic system, which is helping to strengthen our practice. Our teams are well supported by Family Support Workers and Business Support Officers, so our social workers can focus on what matters most – working with children and families.

We’re currently looking for Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join the following frontline teams:

Support and Safeguarding

Our Support and Safeguarding team works with children and families where ongoing statutory involvement is required. The team supports children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, and those in the Public Law Outline (PLO) process. The role here involves delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work, building trust with families, and helping children remain safe and thrive in their home environment wherever possible.

Children And Young People With Disabilities Service (CYPDS)

The CYPDS team provides statutory support for children and young people aged 0–25 with complex disabilities and additional needs. The team adopts a holistic and strengths-based approach, working in partnership with families, health professionals, education, and voluntary sector services. It’s a rewarding area of practice, ensuring children and young people with disabilities have the same opportunities to live safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Duty and Assessment (D&A)

Our fast-paced Duty and Assessment team is the first point of contact for referrals into children’s services. The team is responsible for completing high-quality assessments, making timely and effective decisions about next steps for children and families. Social workers in this team need strong assessment skills, a confident grasp of thresholds, and the ability to work collaboratively to identify the right support at the right time.

Why Work With Us?

At Achieving for Children, we are committed to fostering a positive, supportive, and flexible working environment that enables you to thrive — both professionally and personally. When you join us, you’ll benefit from:

  • Generous Annual Leave: 29 days, increasing to 33 days after 2 years and 35 days after 4 years, plus an extra day off in your birthday month.
  • Strong Start: Tailored induction sessions beginning on your first day, ensuring you feel supported from day one.
  • Secure Future: Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), offering excellent retirement benefits.
  • Flexibility: A range of flexible working options to help you balance work and life commitments.
  • Wellbeing Support: A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support and advice.
  • Employee Perks: Access to a variety of staff benefits, including discounts and offers.
  • Professional Growth: A rich learning and development programme to support your career pathway, whether you’re just starting or ready to progress.

If you're passionate about making a difference and want to work in an organisation that puts children at the centre of everything we do, we would love to hear from you.
