Job summary

LinsCare is seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker for the Birmingham Child Protection Inquiry Team. This hybrid role involves handling Section 47 enquiries and Section 17 assessments with a small caseload to ensure high-quality safeguarding.

Social Worker - Child Protection Inquiry Team

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands, Rate: £33.30 per hour Umbrella, Contract: Initial 3-month Agency Contract, with potential extension, Working: Hybrid.

We are seeking an experienced Children's Social Worker to join a Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident safeguarding practitioner who can hit the ground running following a brief induction.

You will undertake Section 47 enquiries and Section 17 assessments, with low caseloads typically around 3-4 children, allowing you to focus on timely, high-quality safeguarding work. You will also participate in a duty rota approximately every four weeks.

About You

• Social Work England registered and professionally qualified.
• Strong experience in child protection, safeguarding and assessment.
• Confident undertaking Section 47 enquiries and Section 17 assessments.
• Excellent assessment, communication and decision-making skills.
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Experience undertaking statutory home visits.
• Access to a car is desirable.
