Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join a multi-agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) in Worcester. The post requires a social work qualification and at least 2 years post-qualifying experience in child protection, with strong partnership and safeguarding skills.

The role involves strategy discussions, investigations, and joint work with police, health, education and domestic abuse colleagues to safeguard children and young people at risk.

Qualifications

• Must be social work qualified and registered to practice.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualifying experience in child protection.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary settings with police, health and education.
• Ability to lead strategy discussions and contribute to safeguarding plans.

Responsibilities

• Attend strategy discussions and undertake child protection enquiries to conclusion.
• Make appropriate recommendations to reduce risk and escalation needs.
• Lead joint work with partners and contribute to safety planning for children and families.
• Build trusted relationships with community partners to enable timely responses.
